Job description

At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Finance division of Global Banking & Investors Solutions (GBIS), one of the three pillars of SG that brings together Corporate and Investment Banking activities, Private Banking activities, Asset Management and Investor Services. This division oversees the quality and delivery of financial statements for GBIS, the independent certification of financial data for various activities, and also provides day-to-day explanations on profit and loss for market activities.
Description of the Business Line or Department
Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) in the UK is a business line of Societe Generale London Branch.
SGSS is a pan European providers which offers a full range of securities services:
- Custody & Trustee services
- Fund Administration & Asset Servicing
- Fund Distribution, liquidity Management, Issuer Services & Clearing services
Securities Banking Operations (“SBO”) is the department responsible for processing the transactions necessary to support the custodial requirements of our clients – these requirement include:
- Settlement
- Cash Processing
- Reconciliations
- Corporate Actions
- Stock Lending
The department is responsible for supporting the activity of the following clients: UK Funds, Sovereign Funds, Wealth Managers (internally known as AMO segment – Asset Managers and Asset Owner) and Broker Dealers.
Mission
Summary of the key purposes of the role
The person would be participating in enhancing the global efficiency of operations (SBO UK) monitoring and processes as part of the Business Process Management team.
- The person will implement and/or manage tools allowing managing and monitoring the activity of SBO UK by: quality indicators, operational performance indicators, operational risk indicators.
- The person will play an important role in the documentation the SBO UK processes and in strengthening global relationships with SG colleagues, both within global SBO (France, Italy, Germany...) and other SGSS areas. The person will be producing and supporting periodic review of indicators and processes to identify relevant action plan leading to client satisfaction increase. The role holder will work hand in hand with the global SBO functions and the CMS team (Client Services) to follow-up the level of service delivered to clients.
The role holder must know and comply with the regulations, rules and procedures, internal and external applicable (e.g. adherence to CASS and other UK rules).
Summary of responsibilities
- Produce and support process reviews
- Develop tools and approaches to monitor operations
- Manage the tools allowing to manage the activity of SBO UK by : quality indicators, operational performance indicators, operational risk indicators, capacity indicators
- Identify area of risks and improvements and define remediation action plan
- Contribute to processes simplification and ad hoc projects for SBO UK
- Ensure that process and procedures are documented and maintained as current
- Contribute to business process improvement and optimisation and promote a continual improvement culture
- Monitor the various tasks for expected levels of performance and address issues when identified
- Work with Head of Securities Banking Operations UK, Business Process Managers, SGSS UK and abroad teams
Profile
Graduate with a Master’s degree from Business/Engineering School or University in Finance.
You ideally have a previous experience in a bank or financial institution.
You are fluent in English.
You have good command of MS Office applications.

- UK Fund Custody (UCITS, AIFs, etc), Global Custody, Wealth Management and Broker Dealer Services knowledge is a plus

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in London is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
