Siemens Healthineers Molecular Imaging is seeking an engineer/scientist as a summer intern for its Clinical Applications research team based in our Tennessee headquarters. The team is responsible for identifying and solving molecular imaging research challenges relevant to clinicians and aligned with Siemens Healthineers objectives. This involves developing clinically meaningful software innovations in PET, SPECT, and related applications, and helping to transfer them into product solutions

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Software Engineering Intern :

You will be responsible for developing a software prototype to expand our PET/CT and SPECT/CT cardiology capabilities, specifically towards a more automated workflow. This will involve understanding both the technical and clinical challenges, concept design, software development, and rigorous testing. In doing so, you will work closely with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and physicians.

·  You have a can-do attitude, and a passion for creating high quality software.
·  Your experience includes signal processing, image processing and computer vision expertise.
·  You are known for being detail oriented and organized.
·  Knowledge of medical imaging (SPECT, PET, CT, DICOM, coordinate systems, image registration, etc.) would be advantageous.
·  Experience with Java would be advantageous.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

·  You are a graduate student or senior undergraduate student in computer science / electrical engineering / biomedical engineering or related field.
·  Programming proficiency with C++ and MATLAB.
·  Must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher

Start date: Summer 2020; 3-month duration.
