Position Summary

As a Package Designer, you will layout and design rotating machinery packages, working as a team member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team from sales handover through project execution. Responsibilities include:

·  Layout and design rotating machinery packages based on detailed customer and engineering requirements. Equipment includes centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, and generators
·  Design mechanical systems including structural base frames, instrumentation, and piping systems
·  Produce 3D model of package, incorporating internal and supplier designs
·  Produce general arrangement drawings based on customer requirements
·  Produce assembly and sub-assembly drawings and related bills of material
·  Produce fabrication and weldment drawings and related bills of material
·  Ensures that the highest engineering and drafting standards are maintained during the design and manufacture of these products
·  Gives design input to the responsible engineer for the project based on industry/technical knowledge of the system design. Receives direction from that engineer to complete the project
·  Ensures that all drawings comply with industry, departmental, and discipline standards
·  Supports production operations by troubleshooting drawings
·  Prevents future design errors by being involved in the design review process as well as being involved with the correction of project non-conformances
·  Reports to the package design manage

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  HS diploma or equivalent is required.
·  2 years of industry experience in CAD/Design. Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for work experience.
·  Knowledge of 3D CAD system with 1 to 3 years of experience is required.
·  Knowledge of 2D CAD system is required.
·  Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) required
·  Fluent in the English language

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training
·  Experience with design in COMOS or Zuken E3.Series
