Operational Excellence Quality / Internal Controls Professional

Specific Requirements:

Specialized knowledge in quality in at least one of Global Shared Services functional area(s) is required

Position Overview:
Working as an internal consulting resource in the Global Business Services (GBS) Finance / Operational Excellence organization supporting with specific support to the Finance organization within GBS. This role is responsible for project facilitation, driving continuous improvement (i.e. digitization projects/activities) and end-to-end process as well as service delivery optimization of financial activities including assessments of internal controls throughout the GBS Finance organization. The Finance Operational Excellence Professional will be asked to leverage and apply their subject matter expertise, market/industry best practices, facilitation, and project/ change management skills to help provide strategic recommendations for cost/performance efficiencies and execute initiatives in support of the organizational strategy. The incumbent will interface with leadership, and staff stakeholders in the analysis of current processes and delivery modes to identify opportunities for high impact optimization measures. Contributions to organizational improvement will include participation as a key resource and possibly support in major projects, technology implementations / enhancements, quality enhancement and sustainability initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

·  Support coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial internal control activities across all locations which are the responsibility of the center. Activities to be managed and executed through a structured project plan which are formulated and monitored by the respective Finance Operational Excellence Professional
·  Serve as a champion of continuous improvement via the promotion of improvement disciplines with emphasis on LEAN facilitation and consulting techniques
·  Optimization of technology applications / solutions; Identification and prioritization of functional technology enhancement opportunities; Identification of market-leading technology solutions to address Company needs, generate GBS processing efficiencies
·  Supporting key cross-functional process improvements, optimizations, and transformation projects within the GBS environment that impact the GBS Finance organization including but not limited to, end-to-end reviews of complex processes and service delivery models, process redesign, and formal process reference documentation
·  Act as a quality manager within projects and initiatives to support of the project goals and process sustainability
·  Serving as Change Management agent within the GBS Finance organization ensuring the planning and execution of key communication / training measures in order to successfully achieve key objectives
·  Serve as a contributor to GBS Finance organizational strategy discussions and exercises through application of relevant local GBS functional expertise and market/industry best practice knowledge; perform data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending in support of strategic guidelines from GBS Leadership and in addressing stakeholder issues
·  Ensure implementation of the Siemens Operational Excellence framework values and guiding principles through reinforcement, monitoring, and coaching within the respective Service Lines
·  Execute / contribute to special projects dictated by Siemens global and regional strategic initiatives

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
·  Bachelor's degree plus at least 1-3 years of directly related experience or higher educational credentials one of the functional areas may be substituted
·  Demonstrated experience working with critical business processes and in the documentation and
review of core processes
·  Formal consulting experience in an Operational Excellence environment preferred (internal engagements suffice)
·  Bachelor's degree with a major in one of the functional expertise areas: Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, or Supply
·  Chain Operational Excellence plus at least 1-3 years of directly related experience
·  Operational Excellence area highly preferred
·  Working knowledge of SAP highly preferred
·  There will be 10 percent travel associated with this position.

General Requirements
Job Family Responsibilities:


Completes support to the annual assessment of internal controls for GBS. Completes analysis of existing methods to promote effective Operational Excellence through standardization, improvement, simplification, discontinuance, or other methods. Completes recommendations for business processes that ensure alignment with strategic direction; integrates business processes between multiple organizations. Completes the coordination of business process changes, assists in implementing system solutions.

Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues. Typically, 1-3 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
