Job Purpose

Operator Training Simulators (OTS) are advanced computer-based training tools that help give operators the skills they need to run a process or plant. Operators learn how to manage a refinery in this virtual control room through the use of a DYNSIM Dynamic Simulation model that controls the plant responses.

This provides trainees the opportunity to learn how to react appropriately when a similar situation occurs in the actual plant. The use of AVEVA OTS solutions enables companies to address challenges before they occur in the real world, which helps them remain competitive in the global economy.

Principal Accountabilities

You will be assigned to a specific project for the delivery of Operator Training Simulators, giving you the chance to gain valuable experience within process simulation in the Oil & Gas sector. You will aid our OTS team by:

· Performing process simulation based on our in-house products (PROII™, Dynsim™, SCP™, TRISIM™), in projects executed worldwide; mainly in Europe, Africa and Middle East
· Aiding in Real Distributed Control Systems Integration and controls emulation development
· Assisting the lead engineer in designing/implementing assigned portions of simulation systems and executing the engineering.
· Performing thermodynamic analyses and design calculations, and reconciling data to these analyses.
· Creating steady-state and dynamic simulation models using Invensys software
· Monitoring performance against the project schedule.
· Providing timely inputs to the project lead concerning changes in schedule.
· Defining and setting up of different Operator Training Simulators architectures
· Checking of engineering content and accurately documenting the implementation

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

·  You hold a Master`s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering 4th or 5th year
·  You have some Simulation experience
·  You are able to read, interpret and rationalize discrepancies between PIDs, PFDs, and control logic
·  You hold a detailed understanding of DCS, ESD and other control systems
·  You have experience with steady state simulation, dynamic simulation or any other advanced software applications
·  You have significant experience working as part of a team in a project environment
·  You hold a driving license
·  You are fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
·  (Desirable) You have knowledge of AVEVA's, or competitor's, equivalent products - such as, but not limited to INDISS, AUDY, HYSYS, Unisim, OTISS, Visual Modeler or AspenPlus
·  (Desirable) You have experience coordinating an international technical team of at least four people on a project
