Lead Test Engineer

The Organization

Digital Buildings is an innovative and fast-growing Line of Business in the Energy Management division of Schneider Electric providing cutting-edge IoT solutions & products for the smart buildings of tomorrow. We provide intelligent interface between humans and buildings to bring Comfort, Safety & Efficiency to our customer’s lives.

We design and manufacture connected products and services that include the physical products that go in our customers’ industrial and commercial buildings that are connected to cloud base SW offers as well as apps. You will be working with agile cross-functional delivery teams that consist of firmware developers, electronics design engineers, mechanical engineers, product architects, and manufacturing/industrial teams.

Role
Lead Test Engineer – Test Automation

Lead Test Engineer focuses on a range of test approaches to help create high-quality embedded products. Our Test Engineers demonstrate a passion for testing and test automation in the context of a whole-system environment and work closely with our Core Development Teams to improve code quality, increase test coverage, and create tools to ensure our world-class products work as expected. You will be part of an agile team implementing innovative test solutions for embedded living space and plant room solutions. You will be a test champion, driving continuous improvement of our processes, tools, and practices. Responsibilities
· Identify, develop, and maintain automation scripts, tools, and test cases.
· Create, execute, and maintain test plans to verify and validate new product designs.
· Collaborate with developers and design engineers to ensure thorough unit and hardware tests are conducted.
· Collaborate with 3 rd party vendors during Brand Labelling projects and ensure high quality product delivery
· Document and analyze the test results to provide necessary feedback to the development team as well as 3 rd party vendors
· Regularly perform manual, sanity, smoke, regression, and other tests with an eye to automating as much as possible.
· Participate in agile planning events including Scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
· Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, Quality Leads, and product architects
· Deliver test automation benches / programs / test suits for engineering / test team requirements
· Demonstrate working experience with global teams & ability to align / bring best in class processes, coding standards etc.
· Strong knowledge on functional and system level testing domain. Willingness to gain hands-on experience with the products/systems/domain while working on test projects. Typical job tasks are focused on testing firmware, hardware, general features, overall functionalities of the product. Test lead is expected to understand the needs of test automation and take proactive actions to develop tools

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Skills
·  Working experience with Electrical / Electronic / similar products or tester lines.
·  Strong background and understanding of electric circuit fundamentals. Ability to understand and test analog circuit topologies a must.
·  Good understanding of product development life cycle (Agile methodology, Integration testing etc). Communication protocols (MODBUS, Zigbee, BACnet etc)
·  Demonstrable programming skills and previous experience of test development
·  Advanced problem solving skills. Expert in working with test automation tools. C# and Python knowledge/experience is preferred
·  Should be able to handle test equipment independently – Oscilloscope, AC/DC power sources, multi-meters, network devices, PLCs/DAQ systems etc
·  Experience of bug reporting and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
·  Experience working with industrial analog interface standards (0-5VDC, 0-10VDC, 4-20mA).
·  Interest in smart devices, smart home systems and IoT Platforms
·  Interest in understanding environmental sensing mechanisms/processes, and ability to apply this knowledge when developing and executing test plans. Experience testing/characterizing environmental sensors a plus.
·  Experience and/or awareness of the Systems/Product/Software engineering lifecycles
·  A professional, proactive attitude with good interpersonal skills
·  Be a result oriented team player. Leader & self-motivated
·  Good at oral & written communication in English

Qualifications
·  EE Engineer or CS with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
