· Industrial Automation expert with strong ability to build optimized automation architectures and solutions fitting the needs of the customer (including channel partners such as System Integrators). Underlying this ability is a broad technical knowledge of:
· Automation technology

· Job Requirements
· Day to Day Responsibilities
· Provide front and back office pre-sales automation technical support for the sales organization.
· Be a part of a team. The role of the SAE is to be the technical arm of the sales team. To support the sales team regarding the technical aspect of the opportunity including job walk throughs, scope and potential BOM’s.
· Visit customers with the SE sales teams, channel partners (Distribution) or proactively on your own.
· Assist and support End Users, System Integrators and Consulting Engineers on our automation solutions for their project opportunities.
· Introduce and promote the complete Schneider Electric PlantStruxure Architectures.
· Build demos to help the customer visualize the main solution concepts (proof of concept)
· Be the main technical customer interface for system and solutions.
· Provide expert support: assist/lead the system & architecture definition with the customer and create value by advising the customer on advanced issues (Principles, feasibility, limits & constraints, performance, …)
· Provide recommendations & support in terms of migration from or interconnectivity with the Industry Business Legacy offer.
· Answer deep technical questions on integration/compatibility of components inside an architecture
· Help to close the deal by providing differentiating elements to sales for the commercial argumentation. Explain the technical advantages and disadvantages of the proposed architecture(s). (Value Proposition).
· Work closely with other SAEs and PAEs locally and within the global community in order to provide the customer with the best solution.
· Obtain detailed requirements and constraints from the customer, assist the customer in defining the best implementation (validate, optimise and differentiate) of the selected system architectures.
· Select the most appropriate architectures and hardware to meet the customers’ requirements. Adjust and optimise the architecture(s) most appropriately to meet the customers’ needs. (Develop Scope)
· Provide “Job Walks” for solution opportunities.

· Global Team - Actively contribute to a global network of system and architecture experts as part of the global SAE Program:
· Sharing Success Stories and/or Best practices
· Supporting cross country opportunities
· Monthly webinar participation & Input
· Mentoring - When in a senior SAE role, coach & mentor junior colleagues.
· Travel – While this position will support a local region and regionalized sales people, there are times when an SAE will be asked to support and opportunity nationally. This is usually based on the skill sets needed to support a specific opportunity.
· Training – Today, technology is changing fast. In order to stay current, be able to provide current solutions and to position yourself as a consultative asset to you customer…the SAE is in a continuously state of learning. This includes Schneider Electric Hardware, Software, Ethernet and other technologies. Learning can be online or classroom styl Additionally, there is an expectation that the new employee will train and pass the SAE certification exams within a certain time period after hire (typical 12-18 months).

·  Hardware & Software systems (PlantStruxure Architecture)
·  Industry Business installed base offer: migration from and interconnection with the Industry Business legacy offer.
·  Qualifications
·  Candidate must have experience in designing automation systems utilizing:
· 
·  PLC’s
·  SCADA Systems (Wonderware experience is a plus)
·  HMI’s
·  VFD’s.
·  Minimum to enter in the position:
·  Engineering Degree (BSEE Preferred) or Technical Schooling
·  Minimum 3 years of relevant Industrial Automation design or programming experience.
·  Expertise in network communication
·  Preferable experience with Schneider Electric Modicon technology
·  Language/Written skills: English
·  Overnight Travel Requirements: Normally 25% but could be higher at times.
