About the Opportunity

Based from our prestigious facility on the Thames Valley Business Park, we have a great development opportunity available for a junior lawyer with commercial experience and exceptional drafting and problem solving skills to join our UK&IE legal team where you will be supporting a top ten global life science organisation. This business-facing role, supporting our UK and Ireland operations, offers excellent exposure to an exciting, fast paced and complex commercial environment.

This role will provide the successful candidate with the unique opportunity to gain experience (both legal and commercial) in a wide range of legal areas within the pharmaceutical sector, including digital, eHealth, eCommerce, data protection, healthcare and pharmaceutical regulation, pharmaceutical pricing, competition law and market access.  The wide-ranging and rich experience will provide the successful candidate with a great springboard to a legal career with a global pharmaceutical market leader.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· 
Providing clear, consistent and timely advice on a broad range of legal matters, with a focus on the legal aspects of digital, eHealth and eCommerce initiatives as well as data protection

· 
Negotiating and concluding commercial contracts and other legal documentation, and drafting with precision and clarity to ensure that business objectives are achieved within legal considerations

· 
Supporting the business in ensuring compliance with legal requirements, particularly in light of GDPR requirements

· 
Seeking to add value and enhance the contribution of our UK&IE legal team to the business by developing partnership relationships with internal stakeholders, endeavouring to understand and be responsive to their requirements and delivering innovative and pragmatic solutions whilst maintaining professional ethical standards

About You

To excel in this role, you will need:

· 
Lawyer qualified in England and Wales (solicitor or barrister)

· 
 1-3 years PQE in-house or in private practice with a leading law firm.  Previous life sciences experience desirable but not required

· 
Solid knowledge of the legal aspects of digital business initiatives such as websites, apps and e-commerce platforms

· 
Solid knowledge of GDPR/Data Privacy compliance and practical application of legal requirements

· 
Exceptional legal drafting skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills

· 
Demonstrate sound legal judgment and business acumen

· 
Able to work effectively within a team

· 
Motivated and capable of managing own workload, with flexible approach to changing priorities

· 
Calm and effective under pressure

· 
Understanding of UK pharma law and regulations desirable but not essential
