Location: Allston Landing Facility, Boston, MA

Duration: July 13 – December 18

Note: Candidates must be available 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Department Description:

The Manufacturing Engineering Group at the Allston Landing manufacturing site is responsible to ensure that the manufacturing equipment/systems and automation systems used in the manufacture, storage, testing, and distribution of Sanofi products are safe and fit for purpose in accordance with corporate standards and industry regulatory requirements.  This encompasses work processes that originate with the identification of a new or modified asset, the design, installation, verification and validation of the asset, the maintenance of the asset in its commissioned/qualified/validated state and the retirement of the asset at the end of its life.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for assisting with technical engineering support in process optimization strategies, upgrades, replacements, maintenance and modifications in the operations or manufacturing environment.  This person will also ensure that all operations are accomplished in a compliant manner consistent with current corporate policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

General Duties Include:

·  Perform engineering work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
·  Complete routine technical tasks

Operations Engineering Duties Include:

·  On a daily basis, support the monitoring of site operations and actively assist manufacturing, maintenance, or project personnel as required
·  Routinely audit the operational performance of a limited number of equipment items or systems of minor to moderate complexity
·  Routinely assist in the troubleshooting of operational issues with individual equipment or skids
·  Assist with the proposal, initiation, testing and implementation of proposed changes to process, utility and/or facility systems
·  Assist other engineers in the evaluation and implementation of engineering improvements, policy changes, compliance improvements and optimization programs
·  Execute technical investigations, engineering studies, and piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) walkdowns

Training/Deviations/Compliance Duties Include:

·  Partnering with direct and indirect management chain to ensure the following:
·  Training Plan execution
·  Inspection Readiness of assigned areas
·  Timely completion of investigations
·  Complying with requirements from Sanofi Safety Program including Health and Safety regulations and OSHA requirements

Basic Qualifications :

·  Full-time student enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Science or related technological field
·  3.0/4.0 GPA is a minimum requirement
·  Must have permanent US work authorization
·  Exposure to or direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA)
·  Must have ability to gown and enter controlled areas

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Basic understanding of cGMP principles as applied to individual equipment or process steps
·  Previous relevant work experience in operations/manufacturing environment
