Job description



One year Fixed term Contract, with potential for full time placement.

This position is financial position responsible for managing the organization's accounting and/or financial analysis functions in assigned areas. These functions may include establishing and maintaining compliance with the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives, preparing and managing financial reports and presenting findings and recommendations to management and developing and directing budgetary analyses, financial analyses or other specialized roles. The candidate will be positioned as a real accounting/financial/project business partner with all the departments of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·  • Report the site actual spending figures by program in a tight timeframe to Finance management, Engineers and Engineering management, Project Managers
·  • Coordinate program forecasts, by program / by function, for use in engineering resource planning.
·  • Manage the program structure in SAP
·  • Provide basis for project invoicing and capitalized development costs.
·  • Manages hours tracking on Program and monitoring of the database. Develop methods to compare and report project actual figures against the original project plan and latest estimates to complete a project. Conduct regular project status meetings with site management and project managers to report project spending progress
·  • Responsible for producing financial monthly reports to the Safran group by respecting the deadlines. Provide accurate reports matching with local accounting in a timely manner (R&T spending, inventory, overdue, opex, capex, dashboard…) and relevant analysis.
·  • Ensure internal financial control environment is established and in compliance with US GAAP, SOX and all international legal or statutory requirements.
·  • Actively support enterprise initiatives.
·  • Oversee inventory tracking and control of engineering materials
·  • Perform internal control testing and insure respect of the procedures /process.
·  • Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture;

Complementary description

·  • Evening/night hours may be required
·  • Extra hours may be required during business peaks.
·  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired profile



Job requirements

·  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant area of study. A minimum of three (3) years' of experience in finance or accounting in a manufacturing environment.

In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an Associate's Degree in Accounting or related area of study
A minimum of four (4) years' experience in finance or accounting in a manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of international business practices and foreign exchange principles
GAAP/IAS knowledge (reporting requirements – US and local versions), IFRS
Some experience in a variety of financial functions including but not limited to, General Ledger, Program Analysis, Cost Accounting and US Government Contracting Compliance, Government Reporting
Experience with financial statement analysis, discounted cash flow, financial metrics and general ledger journal entry creation.
Experience working in Excel mandatory
Experience using an ERP system

Preferred Skills:

·  • Experience working in SAP
·  • Expert level in Microsoft Excel
·  • Conversant in French helpful
·  • Aerospace industry experience

·  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
·  • Expert in Microsoft Office knowledge and application usage (Excel functions, pivot tables, etc)

·  • Able to document and support internal control/SOX as necessary
·  • In-depth understanding of financial statements & core finance/accounting concepts
·  • Strong analytical skills
·  • Strong spreadsheet skills/financial systems experience
·  • Capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment
·  • Willing to work effectively in a team environment
