Italdesign is expanding activities in prototyping and engineering in automotive interior and exterior lighting field. The Optical Engineer, in collaboration within Italdesign/EE lighting team, is requested to develop lighting optical components projects for show cars, small series and will lead pre-development analysis/simulation for lighting components for series development. This position will include collaboration in the complete integration of lighting components on the vehicle (mechanical, thermal, electronic aspects have to be taken into account). Candidates for consideration will be responsible for simulating/developing/supporting lighting components prototyping/engineering in internal projects as well as for external customers’ projects.

• Engineering/Developing interior and exterior lighting optical components to be integrated on show cars, small series and series projects • Pre-development optical analysis/simulation for lighting components to be installed on series or small series cars • Simulation/prototyping for innovative lighting project • Pre-development phases: analysis/optical simulation of automotive lighting components. • Development phases: collaborate/steer exterior/interior lighting supplier • Prototyping phases: collaborate/steer exterior/interior lighting suppliers • Validation phases: support/steer photometrical/optical validation aspects • Interfaces in the different project phases different internal/customer departments (design/prototyping/engineering/validation/production)

competenze

• 1-2 years of experience in field of Physics or Optical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a focus on non-imaging optical simulations and applications better if for Automotive Lighting for Exterior (Front and/or Rear) and/or Interior • 1-2 years of experience in field of Lighting component development and integration on the vehicle (particularly innovative lighting components) • Experience in CAD CATIA V5 utilization. • Experience in lighting simulation software utilization (ASAP, LucidShape, OPTIS). Preferred LucidShape Standalone or LucidShape CAD V5 integrated version knowledge. • MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook) knowledge. • General competences regarding thermal, electronic, mechanical analysis for automotive lighting components • General competences about photometrical measurements Additional Information • Education: Master degree in Optical, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of written and spoken English and Italian are required. Knowledge of German/Chinese would be appreciated • Workplace: Moncalieri (TO) and availability to travel. The research is aimed at both sexes (L.903/77) Youth@work approved
