Job description

Undergraduate work-placement
These eleven-month placements are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree. You could sit a selection of professional accounting exams and leave with a graduate job offer to fast track into a second year role upon graduation. You’ll work alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on live and interesting client projects. So you’ll get a good insight into working life at PwC.

Global Mobility
PwC’s mobility vision is to invest in immediate and future mobility and inspire our people as a seamless network – to deliver quality services to our clients and each other. The Global Mobility (GM) network facilitates the global mobility programme providing expert consulting and services to our PwC colleagues which help to enable the achievement of this vision.

The GM team is a team of 20 who work cohesively in a supportive and collaborative environment. We offer two placements, one aligned to the GM and International Business Travel (IBT) population, the other aligned to our Immigration responsibilities. Both roles are varied, technical and analytical.  The GM/IBT role has key responsibilities which support the team in Management Information (MI) reporting, database and project management as well as supporting our IBT population. The immigration role has key responsibilities in the reporting and management of our sponsor obligations and involves a great degree of project management. It is an exciting role with opportunity to develop technical knowledge and skills in the field and work closely with a range of stakeholder groups in Human Capital (HC) and our Legal team to embed and improve immigration processes. This placement will be challenging, exciting, fast-paced and most of all rewarding.

Global Mobility - International Business Travel (IBT)
The Global Mobility (GM) programme supports PwC’s UK strategy to strengthen the global network, drive revenues from international investments as well as play an integral role in developing our network. It is critical for the GM team to provide exceptional GM service to both internal clients, its international assignee population and our International Business Travellers (IBT’s).

What you’ll do

·  Provision of regular and ad-hoc reports to meet the UK and global reporting needs
·  Develop new methods of manipulating and presenting data where applicable
·  Responsibility for coordination of cultural awareness sessions for all inbound international assignees
·  Responsibility for UK IBT reporting and data analysis
·  Monitoring and flagging (as appropriate) new and ongoing business travel cases
·  Managing inbound and outbound immigration support letters
·  Managing various IBT trackers
·  Assist in the annual global tax compliance process and managing the collection of HMRC refunds and repayments to assignees or other PwC territories
·  Working with GM, internal UK and Global assignment tax service teams, supporting them with the payment of Short Term assignees, ensuring that PwC remains compliant with UK tax laws
·  During busy seasons and for specific GM programmes there will be the opportunity to widen the support provided to GM team members to include activities such as programme induction coordination.

What you’ll gain
By experiencing life inside one of the world’s largest professional services organisations, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to build and work on your commercial and personal skills. Working alongside specialists, you’ll work on projects to give you the best insight into what we’re about. You’ll have the opportunity to build networks with your colleagues and peer group - factors which will make a real difference when you return for your last year at university.

What you’ll need

·  You’ll need to be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study
·  You'll need to be a second year undergraduate university student on a four-year degree expecting to do a work placement in your third year
·  IT proficiency with excellent MS Excel (Google Sheets) and MS Powerpoint (Google Slides) skills in order to prepare regular reports that will be shared across the team and with a variety of stakeholders
·  Excellent administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail
·  Confidence to ask questions and challenge ideas
·  An interest in developing data analysis skills to shape recommendations to the business
·  An ability to proactively manage own time, prioritise and maintain motivation when faced with a large number of tasks
·  An ability to work cohesively in a team as well as on individual projects
·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – the ability to successfully flex your style to engage and communicate with a variety of different stakeholders
·  A practical and sensible approach to problem solving
·  Enthusiasm and a commitment to meeting objectives to a high standard

Make every future a success.
