Here at PepsiCo, we have a 12 month industrial manufacturing placement opportunity in our Supply Chain team based at our Walkers manufacturing site in Coventry.

Our manufacturing site in Coventry has been established since 1994 and has been the home of Doritos, a key snack brand at Coventry for nearly 25 years. Alongside this, Coventry manufacture other snacks unique to the site such as French fries/Squares/Sunbites, manufacturing on average a whopping 1000kg of finished product each week.

The site has had continues investment over the years and continues to invest and grow some of the nation’s favourite snacks. The continuous improvement philosophy is an important part of manufacturing at Coventry, and the site is currently on a lean development journey. This means you’ll gain critical experience within this highly transferable manufacturing methodology.

You will work closely with key leaders in our business, learning from their skills and experience. Your mentor will also be an invaluable part of supporting you through your placement. You’ll leave with a broad perspective of PepsiCo as a business and a more in-depth knowledge of the role Manufacturing plays within the FMCG sector.

What you’ll get up to:

·  Leading process improvement teams to understand the root cause of poor performance and implementing initiatives.
·  Support the development and deployment of both productivity and capital investment programs, which may include state of the art automation equipment.
·  You’ll be given real-life objectives to work on and will be expected to make a noticeable contribution to your department.

Qualifications/Requirements

What we’re looking for:

·  Undergraduate student, following path to a degree level qualification in Manufacturing Engineering (or similar) or a Science based degree.
·  High degree of initiative and drive to deliver results of trials and activities and able to be pro-active and multi-task.
·  Creative and can think of new and innovative ways to develop systems and make existing things work more efficiently.
·  Sharp problem solving skills and knowledge of standard tools.
·  Passion for Manufacturing and staying on top of industry developments.
·  Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse audience.
·  High degree of self-motivation combined with good organisational skills.
·  Supportive team player with an accurate, methodical and reliable approach.
·  Good communication, verbal and written.
·  Computer-literate (Microsoft Office). What else do you need to know?

This 12 month placement starts in July 2020 , with a salary of £17,500
