We’re looking for an Occupational Health Advisor to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Occupational Health department at our Skelmersdale manufacturing site with the provision of remote support to the UK operation and involvement in UK projects, and as an integral part of the UK Occupational Health team. You should be passionate about your profession, and able to make and stand-up for your decisions and influence at all levels.

What you’ll get up to:

·  Supporting the health and wellness of around 650 permanent employees at Skelmersdale 24/7 manufacturing site.
·  Leading an on-site OH department, working in partnership with Doctors, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners and other OH Advisors from across the business.
·  Responsible for the provision of Occupational Health screening and surveillance programmes in accordance with current Occupational Health policy E.g. vision screening, lung function, testing, audiometry testing and other appropriate testing.
·  Participating in health promotions and education programmes and undertaking workplace visits. Ensuring line managers and key stakeholders are kept abreast of OH workings and practices, which will include running OH induction and awareness programmes.
·  Playing an active role in the promoting the Healthy Living agenda onsite and liaison with the Mental Health First Aiders.
·  Work closely with HR and line managers to case manage health cases, delivering a proactive approach to absence management, plan and advice on individual rehabilitation and return to work plans.
·  Maintaining up to date and comprehensive records, observing confidentially of the clients information at all times in accordance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
·  Using OH data and statistics to formulate periodic reports and analysis of the data to ensure service utilisation and efficiencies.
·  Observing a general duty of care for the health, safety and well-being of self, work colleagues, visitors and clients within the occupational health department, in addition to any specific risk management associated with this job role.
·  Play an active role in OH projects and annual plans and participation in team activities and initiatives.
·  Participate in SEQOHS accreditation and work to agreed standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

What we’re looking for:

·  Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health or be working towards this would be considered with the right level of experience and evidence of continual professional development.
·  Extensive Occupational Health experience preferably in the manufacturing sector.
·  Experience of team work and effective management of workload in a clinical setting.
·  Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
·  Good PC Skills and previous experience of utilising “Cohort” OH system would be useful.
·  Flexibility, as travel to other sites may be required occasionally.
·  Car driver and current driving license essential.
·  Flexibility to work out of hours when needed.
