Overview:

Michael Kors has an exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources Department supporting our US Field Team!  The Employee Relations Generalist will focus on day to day employee relations, performance management, investigations, and ensuring management and compliance with HR policies and procedures.  The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced business environment, provide coaching and counseling to field employees & leaders as well as possess a proactive and entrepreneurial spirit. He/She must have the ability to give and receive feedback with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Support and build strong relationships with business leaders: Regional Directors, District Managers and Store Managers
·  Provide consultation, guidance, coaching solutions to field teams to ensure the appropriate handling and resolution of employee relations issues.
·  Recommend and approve performance management action plans in partnership with the legal department.
·  Responsible for talent development and retention through a risk and performance assessment process
·  Conduct internal investigations in response to employee complaints.
·  Partner with the loss prevention department on all internal cases.
·  Perform terminations in partnership with the legal department.
·  Maintain compliance and understanding with federal and state regulations concerning employment practices.
·  Gather and analyze employee relations data and help to identify trends
·  Produce reporting on exit interviews, hotline calls, corrective action documents, etc.
·  Develop policy and procedure guidelines as needed.
·  Manage annual review process.
·  Conduct exit interviews of voluntary terminations; analyze trends and recommend solutions.
·  Support company-wide global HR initiatives
·  Advise field leadership on process and financial guidelines
·  Update Incident Management system with case data and details
·  Assist in special projects when necessary

Requirements:

·  Four year Bachelor’s Degree
·  2-3 years of HR Generalist experience
·  Experience in handling employee relations issues and dealing with labor laws
·  Experience in and a passion for fashion retailing is a plus
·  Knowledge and practical application of all HR discipline and practices
·  Well developed written presentation, organization, and editing skills
·  Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
·  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
·  Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute within a team setting
·  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
·  Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced environment
·  Pro-active and solution oriented
·  Must have a positive attitude
