Engineer I

Your Role :

Reporting to the Head of Acoustic R&D, you will have primary responsibilities for driving and developing MilliporeSigma's novel platform technologies to enable automated cell and gene therapy manufacturing.  The technologies comprise patented acousto-fluidics systems for cell processing such as labeled and label-free cell selection, concentration, washing and differentiation.  As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will design, model and analyze acousto-fluidic cell processing platforms, validate new acousto-fluidic devices and participate in process development, design of experiments, data analysis, and post processing.

 

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

·  MS degree Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Biochemical or Bioprocess Engineering, or Physics, or similar degree.
·  Strong knowledge in one of the following fields: physical acoustics, fluid dynamics, biomedical ultrasound, emulsions, particle-laden flows or related field.
·  Additional knowledge in one of the following areas is desirable: CAD, data analysis, statistics, FEA, CFD.
·  Self-motivated with strong curiosity and driven to take on broader responsibilities around technology development.
·  Strong communication and teaming skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  PhD in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, Biochemical or Bioprocess Engineering, or Physics, or similar degree.
·  Be an independent thinker, innovator and contributor to the development of the acousto-fluidic platform technologies and processes.
