Position Title: Operator

Reports To: Shift Manager

Location: Ft. Smith, Arkansas

Shift hours: 12 hour rotating ( 6a-6p)

Purpose of Role:

To operate and monitor primary equipment, meeting corporate quality and safety standards in the manufacture of pet food.

Principal Accountabilities

·  To maintain safety standards by using LOTO and confined space entry procedures when working in primary area of the factory
·  To operate primary equipment for the effective production of product
·  Make product changeovers on primary piece of equipment
·  Be able to assist in troubleshooting equipment to assure proper operation
·  Communicate with team in order to prevent down time and quality issues
·  Extensive knowledge of how the primary piece of equipment in the are operates
·  Knowledge of production processes
·  The ability to operate and troubleshoot primary piece of equipment
·  The ability to complete quality checks and document results using data base collection system
·  This position and all site associates are responsible for quality and food safety
·  This position monitors quality and food safety control points and makes corrective actions to the process if needed
·  Know and understand the site’s CCP’s and report any findings of deficiencies to site’s quality manager or designee

Mission Critical Competencies

·  Must be able to learn how to operate primary piece of equipment
·  Must be able to perform all of the necessary quality checks on a primary piece of equipment
·  Must know the product “Hold” criteria of applicable area
·  Must understand the mechanics of how equipment operates in the area in order to troubleshoot primary piece of equipment
·  Must have excellent communications skills

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

·  Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety
·  Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
·  Forklift certified

Minimum Qualifications

·  High School diploma or equivalent.
·  2+ years of manufacturing experience.
·  Ability to lift 50 pounds.
·  Ability to quickly respond.
·  Mechanical troubleshooting ability
·  Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)
·  Computer literate with an ability to enter, record, maintain and retrieve data
