Mars Food is looking for a Logistics Analyst in Chicago, IL

Job Purpose:

The Logistics Analyst is responsible and accountable for the successful and timely delivery of customer orders after they are released to the warehouse. This includes direct responsibility for analysis, problem solving, developing and executing action plans to address systemic logistical challenges and opportunities. Overall, this role focuses on order-to-cash management, customer on-time delivery, and analyzing the network and customer distribution to reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Responsible for utilizing and developing tools to drive improvement with customer, warehouse, and transportation metrics.
·  Strong Analytical skills - Responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems and developing action plans for improved logistical performance from the warehouse to customer including shipping routes, lead time.
·  In Depth Knowledge of logistics network and systems – SAP, Red Prairie, and TransPlace
·  Responsible for SAP Transactions and testing to support the physical logistics network.
·  Collaborate with both internal and customer logistics teams to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reduce logistics related Fines & Fees to the mutual benefit of all parties. These KPI’s would include On-Time to Requested Arrival Date (OTR) as well as Service as Measured by Customer (SAMBC) on-time performance. Ensure that all customer orders are appointed and shipped on-time.
·  Record, analyze, and maintain STO on-time metrics and carrier performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Track and improve performance and costs.
·  Prioritize inbound and outbound deliveries when capacity constrained.
·  Ensure seasonal/promotional inventory is deployed appropriately by working with the Logistics Coordinator.
·  Support the Logistics Coordinator with analysis to support projects and cost saving initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

·  2 – 5 years of Relevant Work Experience
·  Skills in Excel
·  SAP capability (including using systems, running reports, using systems proactively)
·  Great Communication Skills
·  Experience with managing and balancing logistics networks
·  Customer-centric behaviors
·  Ability to communicate at all levels (peer, up and external)
