The Banquets Department is responsible for the set up and delivery of all fucntions within the features over 15,600 square feet of function space for events of 2 to 1,500 guests. The resort boasts an Italian-designed conference centre with 7 state-of-the-art meeting and conference venues, in addition to an 8,838-square-foot ballroom for up to 1,200 guests. They will work closely with the Events Team and Kitchen to ensure that all Brands Standards and Westin Service Delivery is met.

Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

· To positively contribute to the sales activities within your department/hotel and maximize sales opportunities and to be knowledgeable of company products.
· To give full cooperation to any client or colleagues requiring assistance in a prompt, caring and helpful manner.
· To treat all client and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all time.
· Sets clear personal development targets which focus on behavioral improvement as much as professional/ technical skills.
· To achieve action points arising out of 6 month appraisal.
· To demonstrate a pride in workplace and a high level of commitment.
· To strive to anticipate client needs wherever possible and react to these to enhance client satisfaction.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

To move into this position you should have

· Throughout knowledge of beverages, spirits and wines

· Efficient beverage cost control skills/methods

· Good planning and judgment of banquets bar set up

·  Excellent command of the English language speaking, reading and writing
·  Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
·  Multiple language ability, an advantage
·  Smart in appearance and well groomed
·  Good interpersonal skills
·  Hotel / High school or equivalent education required
·  Micros and ace knowledge would an advantage
·  The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage
·  Multiple shifts with long hours should be expected
