Initiates and maintains contact with present and potential customers of, through sales calls and associated travel.

With support from other HM Clause associates, breeders, product managers, Regional Sales Manager, provides a high level of service and product information to customers

Through established relationships and thorough understanding, provides specific variety recommendations to customers.

Maintains a high level of communication with the Farmer customers, dealers, university staff, organized groups and associations as well as HM Clause associates, acting as the liaison between these groups

Support annual trial plans with product development team, Regional Sales Manager and product managers to identify new varieties that will meet customer needs

Work closely with customer service representatives and sample coordinator to plan and deliver timely seed samples of commercial and HMX varieties per the defined trial plan

Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the product line, develops the required product performance trial data through trials to determine features and benefits of new products. Makes recommendations for new products to be advanced into the commercial product line.

Participates in trade shows and field days preparation and participation, along with related activities in a professional manner.

Participates in the resolution of product performance issues with the customers in conjunction with Region Manager

Develops and implements sales action plans to achieve annual sales and margin budgets.

Reviews sales forecasts on a monthly bases and production release updates as requested.

Develops market trends and identifies new varieties that will allow HM Clause to capitalize on growth opportunities

Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding the competitor's key products.

Maintains a high level of communications with Business Manager Processing Division/ Product Development Specialist and associates and completes detailed monthly Sales reports communicating the key market, customer, sales, product and competitive trends within territory.

Manages expenses within the annual budget for the territory.

Profile

Education and/or Experience

Requires a minimum of a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture, or equivalent field.
4-6 years of experience in the Vegetable industry preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
