Position: Accounts PayableClerk

Location: Saline, MI

Subordinates: No

Scope of Duties :

·
Setup suppliers in ERP system; maintain supplier data, including W9 documentation.

·
Review all incoming invoices for accuracy.

·
Ensure compliance to signature guidelines for all invoice approvals.

·
Match invoices with open receipts and investigate variances; or code invoices to proper general ledger account, if required.

·
Execute weekly check run for payable invoices, obtain signatures and distribute/mail checks.

·
Prepare monthly payment; advise for bank wires and obtain approval prior to payment.

·
Answer vendor inquiries with regards to outstanding payments, review and compare vendor statements to Accounts Payable records.

·
Investigate and resolve unpaid invoices.

·
Periodically review open receipts and request invoices, if necessary.

·
Files and organizes all accounts payable documentation for recordkeeping purposes.

·
Assist in monthly and year-end closing of Accounts Payable.

Education/Qualifications :

· Good understanding of accounting principles.
· Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Excel/Word (intermediate skill level).
· Able to work in team environment.
· Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two or moreyears related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Handles a fair workload and meets deadlines. Accepts new responsibilities and adapts to changes in procedures.
· Works independently to solve problems. Looks for opportunities to take on more responsibilities.
· Identifies and solves problems effectively and demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making.

· Ability to analyze business/financial data
· Strong logical, mathematical, database and reporting skills
