Job description

Current and upcoming risk management regulations (BCBS 239, SREP, IFRS 9 etc...) promise to put the whole organisation more and more in the spotlight. Their focus include, but are not limited to, business model, data management, processes, internal controls and IT infrastructure.

It is of utmost importance to understand that not only pure risk management, finance or legal reporting are on the regulatory agenda. Additionally, regulators will assess the business and operational models of banks in order to evaluate sustainability as well as the appropriateness of implemented risk and governance frameworks, processes and data management practices.

The Role and Responsibilities

- Since (Master) Data Management, Data Governance and - quality is more than a functional or technological exercise, you will work closely together with an enthusiastic team of both business and technical specialists from our data analytics core team as well as with professionals from other KPMG Advisory Practices.
- You will be part of a fast-growing and successful team that helps our clients within various industries to get the most benefit from their information/data assets.

Key activities will include:

- Participate in the development of data & information management strategies, roadmaps and business cases.
- Understand and evaluate business processes, enabling to successfully translate business needs into information and data requirements.
- Help defining and embedding data governance and (master) data management principles at clients.
- Define structures, policies, processes and metrics to improve and maintain the quality and ownership of information and data assets.
- Assess, design and implement frameworks around master data management, data governance and data quality within complex system landscapes.
- Develop & Implement Data Quality solutions, metrics and dashboards.
- Evaluate or design data architectures and data flow diagrams.
- Advise on data classification, profiling and data cleansing exercises.
- Provide support in product development, proposals and further research.

The perfect candidate

- You have a master degree and acquired 2 to 6 years of experience in a data governance, management, architecture, quality, assurance, modeling or related role, preferably within a consultancy organization.
- You apply an holistic approach to (master) data management, encompassing governance, processes, quality principles, technological solutions and a change in culture, supporting the realization of business objectives.
- You understand the importance of change management in the implementation of data and information management strategies.
- You are comfortable with market trends and technologies related to data governance, data quality and (master) data management.
- You are result-oriented with expert problem solving and analytical skills.

- Fluency English and German or French language skills.

- Any of the following skills or abilities is a plus:

- Experience with data governance, management, quality and cleansing software (e.g. SAS, Collibra, Trillium, Informatica...).
- Knowledge of (upcoming) compliance and regulatory requirements having important impact on data requirements (e.g. BCBS239 or AnaCredit in Banking, Solvency II in Insurance, etc).
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Reporting architectures, infrastructure and tooling.
- Relevant certification (e.g. Certified Data Management Professional, CIP, ...).
- Experience with the implementation of data warehouses.
