Come join our Toronto branch as part of the Customs Finance team!

Your Role

This position is responsible for handling the overall activities and operations in the accounts payable function. Main focus on ensuring incoming invoices are booked in time and incorrect invoices are disputed in proper format as well as following up on old disputes and maintaining a communication channel with vendors in order to keep all payable items up-to-date.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure that all vendor invoices are acknowledged and approved in a timely manner in ACON
• Maintain the unacknowledged report and review parked, partially acknowledged, errors or transfers to keep within the required National KPI's
• Correspond with other KN Customs offices when there are billing differences or chargebacks
• Ensure all US billing files (Export Billing) are completed and billed in a timely manner
• Ensure FSL is worked daily with aim to ensure zero deferrals at month end, files are to be handled with focus on maximizing GP, action excessive profit/loss files and escalate repeating accounts
• Review billing differences by being proactive in identifying errors and following up with the appropriate department for correction
• Weekly follow-up with vendors on disputes to ensure invoice was canceled/credit note issued
• Ensure all applicable costs are entered in the cost entry screen
• Resolve finalize accounting task by verifying outstanding costs or revenue
• Handling additional billing requests from other departments including additional charges and missing back-up documents required by customer
• Oversee C.O.D report by following up with respective teams to provide update on outstanding collection items
• Reviewing invoices claimed by customer as incorrect and handling any billing corrections as needed  
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Company
• Continuously be on the lookout for process improvements, enhancements and or automation for current functions and processes.

Your Skills and Experiences

- 3 or more years of experience in an A/P role
- Solid understanding of financial analysis
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a group in a fast-paced and high volume environment
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
- Ability to think independently and multitask to prioritize assigned work
- Ability to interact with employees, vendors,and other community members in a professional manner
