Function: Product Engineering

Main Responsibilities:

As a Planters Design Engineer for John Deere you will work in a cross functional team environment to develop and implement planting equipment to meet our customers’ requirements. You will:

- Collaborate with others to solve design problems to meet our performance, quality, manufacturability and cost goals.

- Proficiently use CAD tools to create models and drawings for your designs

- Champion your designs thru the full product development cycle, from concept development, through virtual and physical build, testing and production

- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to production assembly, quality, manufacturing and sales teams

 

What Skills You Need:

- Prior engineering experience (Including Internships)

- Knowledge of designing and/or testing of structural components

- Experience with CREO or another CAD software

- Experience working on a factory environment

- Effective Communication skills

- Strong problem solving and analytic skills

- Proactivity

- Fluent in English

What Makes You Stand Out:

- Structural design experience of agricultural or OEM equipment
- Experience with FEA and structural validation tools and processes
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for engineering materials  
- Experience applying GD&T

 

Education (or equivalent experience):
B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
