Your Responsibilities

 

As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere, you will be responsible for product line support for Hay & Forage assembly operations. You will provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Additionally, you will:

 

·  Investigate, gather and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks
·  Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope
·  Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope
·  Work with electronic tools to perform engineering functions
·  Develop and implement plans of limited scope to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System
·  Design operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation
·  Participate in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency
·  Implement new manufacturing processes and technology
·  Modify existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new wage performance pay plans

What Skills You Need

·  Manufacturing engineering experience obtained through projects, internships or practical work experience 
·  Experience in shop floor environment and exposure to continuous improvement process
·  Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues and determining root cause 
·  Experience developing work instructions, Operator Method Sheets(OMS), assembly manufacturing processes, tooling and/or equipment 
·  Experience building relationships and communicating with both salary and wage workforce 
·  Ability and willingness to work off-shift hours (occasional) in support of production and equipment installation 

 

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

·  1 or more years of experience in assembly manufacturing engineering
·  Experience with the following software programs: ProE, AutoCAD, VisMockup, W-Planner 
·  Experience with Industrial Engineering basic motion, time study, and line balancing 
·  Experience with shop floor manufacturing incentive pay systems 
·  Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium scope projects 
·  Experience with precision assembly methods 

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

·  Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline
