Title: Electric Drive Design Engineer - 59226 

Your Responsibilities

As an Electric Drive Design Engineer for the John Deere Construction & Forestry division, located in Dubuque, IA you will work with a team to develop vehicle electrification systems on construction equipment.  In addition, you will:

·  Perform design and analysis activities to develop the next generation of electric machines, power electronics, and/or connection systems that will be used on construction equipment.
·  Perform development testing of components and systems in a lab environment and on vehicle
·  Participate on internal teams to drive methodology, processes, and tools to design Power Electronic Powertrain Systems.
·  Provide problem solving of Power Electronic Systems issues on new product development and current production
·  Participate on PDP teams, ensuring design activities and plans are formulated and followed.

What Skills You Need

·  Knowledge of power electronics and electric machine operating principles
·  3 or more years of previous engineering experience performing analysis, testing and/or design work for a defined portion of a project or equivalent
·  Analytical experience in electro-magnetic principals and power electronic controls
·  Excellent communication skills and leadership potential
·  A strong desire and ability to learn new subject matters and technologies
·  Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
·  Experience with off-highway equipment
·  Experience utilizing SAEJ1939 interfacing tools or other vehicle controller interfaces
·  Experience with data acquisition and analysis software such as LabVIEW, dSpace. Glyphworks, Matlab, NI, etc.

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
