Job description



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·  Candidates should be familiar with working in a mission critical data center environment and must be willing and able to learn critical electrical systems (UPS, Generator, Switchgear), mechanical systems (Air Handlers, Rooftop Units, pumps, Fans), Fire alarm and suppression systems (Fike), building control systems (Honeywell - EBI ) and preventative maintenance programs.
·  This position is responsible for safe reliable operations on a 24/7 facility maintaining Service Level Agreements, customer service requests, and responding to abnormal conditions or equipment status alarms.
·  IT awareness of servers, network and peripheral equipment is a plus.
·  Maintain documentation such as power diagrams, space usage, procedures, regulatory and PM completions
·  Strong prioritization and organization skills – must be able to switch quickly between projects or tasks
·  Tours critical building areas including data centers, telephony, and main electrical, mechanical riser rooms along with fire and security panels.
·  Monitor all building systems and mission critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the raised floor environment
·  Provide critical site support by responding to alerts and alarms via the site-based building automated monitoring and control systems.
·  Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. of equipment; Ability to work from heights including platforms, scaffolding, ladders and lifts.
·  Support the day to day operations of the building including shipping and receiving, general cleaning, restocking, painting, lightbulb replacement, roof-top equipment cleaning support, overall general building support.
·  Perform work order tasks in support of the building requirements; general equipment inspections and tasks
·  Create documentation in support of preventive maintenance, corrective action tasks.
·  Stay up to date with all site emergency procedures
·  Able to operate a personal computer using Windows, Excel, Word and other applications
·  Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools
·  Strong written, oral, and technical knowledge and verbal communication skills
·  Demonstrate the ability to follow technical tasks and procedures along with interpreting instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
·  Manage vendor activities, monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved

OTHER FUNCTIONS

·  Maintain ethical, professional and courteous relations with contractors
·  Act as a team member with all employees of the management staff
·  Complies with all written JLL and regional company policies
·  Meet attendance and punctuality requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·  Associate's degree preferred but not required
·  Industrial Technology; trade school certification or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience with data center/critical facility, UPS Systems, Emergency Generators or Electrical Switch-Gear required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·  Ability to work 24/7/365 4/3/3/4 12-hour schedule with 2-month rotation
·  Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
·  Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
·  Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
·  Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
·  Ability to become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various equipment or processes at location

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·  Detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual. Walking, lifting and climbing required
