Job description



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Responds to reports of defects with regards to buildings and facility services equipment, ie- HVAC, doors, electrical problems, etc.

Performs preventative maintenance and facilitates periodic testing on building and service related equipment

Troubleshoots problems with building and facilities equipment by utilizing all means necessary

Aids in facilitating safety and security by ensuring workplace, municipal, and legal standards are maintained with regards to building and grounds

Inspects for defects

Removes and replaces defective parts

Returns equipment to normal service

Able to program automated equipment such as building management systems to some degree determined by job assignment i.e. remotely manipulate electrical, lighting, HVAC, fire systems, etc 

Provides regular updates to Maintenance Management / Supervision regarding status of projects and assignments 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  supervise contractors and peers at times when project requires.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; with at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence both hard copy and through the use of a computer.

Academic shills

Must possess basic reading, writing, mathematical, and trade discipline specific skills

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and proficiency in using full Microsoft Office products, Computerized Maintenance Management System (C.M.M.S) Project, and other internet based software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Trade certificates preferred.
