Operating Engineer

Summary:

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented Operating Engineer to install, maintain, facilitate and repair HVAC systems. The HVAC Technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems. You will be responsible for systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty and emergency repairs.

To be successful in this role, Safety, customer satisfaction, and accountability will be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient, and have excellent multi-tasking organizational and troubleshooting skills.

Operating Engineer Responsibilities:

·  Troubleshooting remotely across the entire campus and providing valuable findings to field technicians
·  Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
·  Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
·  Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems
·  Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
·  Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
·  Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
·  Ensuring compliance of vendors with Site specific safety rules and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
·  HVAC Controls and troubleshooting
·  Must be willing to work rotating shift (nights, weekends and if needed holidays)

Operating Engineer Requirements:

·  High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
·  3+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
·  Valid driver’s license.
·  Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
·  Working knowledge of boiler systems.
·  Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
·  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
·  Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
·  Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
·  Ability to work in confined spaces.

·  HVAC Controls background
·  Glycol racks refrigerant, ice machines
·  In depth electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
·  Experience with various hand and power tools, digital meters, pressure gages, vacuum pumps, recovery pumps, soldering, heavy duty steel saw cutters, drills, pressers, and

Tube bending equipment.

·  Troubleshoot boiler (hot water).
·  Diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment including, RTU’s up 50 tons, splits systems, mini splits, Air compressors, RO Systems, Duct Heaters, Troubleshooting controls / BAS alarms.
·  Pumps ( circulating, domestic, storm)
·  AHU maintenance and PMs
·  Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint.
