Title: Lead Visual Product Designer
Location: New York, NY or Ann Arbor, MI

We're looking for a Lead Visual Product Designer with a passion for solving complex problems including big data and data visualization. Our environment is ever changing and requires a candidate who is flexible, thrives in ambiguity, and is driven to shape the visual strategy for our products. Although Visual Design will be your primary role, we're looking for candidates with secondary skill in UX Design and User Research. Responsibilities:
·  Build and facilitate product vision by working with designers, researchers, offering managers, researchers, and developers to understand and communicate users' needs and behaviors to inform and shape product strategy/roadmap
·  Create world-class customer experiences and beautiful visuals that support and reinforce IBM Watson Health's vision, brand and business objectives across all platforms
·  Produce mood boards, storyboards, design briefs, visual language guidelines, visual compositions, and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs
·  Work with user experience designers, design researchers and developers to ensure visual design enhances the overall user experience
·  Work with design researchers to understand stakeholders, users and the markets in which they operate
·  Work with design team to plan and conduct validation activities to ensure a delightful user experience
Skills:
·  Demonstrated ability to produce quick, low-fidelity sketches and sleek, high fidelity visuals on tight schedules
·  Highly skilled in tools such as Sketch, InVision and Illustrator
·  Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in typography, color theory and iconography
·  Demonstrated ability to create click through prototypes to test and validate working hypothesis with users
·  Demonstrated ability to synthesize real user feedback into designs
·  Solid understanding of mobile and desktop graphic techniques and production practices
·  Working knowledge of how compositions translate to HTML, JavaScript and CSS used to deliver feasible designs
·  Knowledge of accessible designs
·  Ability to work with brand and design guidelines
·  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including techniques to persuade and negotiate and the ability to articulate alternative approaches
·  Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills
·  Exceptional attention to detail Qualifications:
·  Bachelor's degree or higher in visual design or closely related field
·  Portfolio/work samples at varying fidelity (show your process)
·  At least 7+ years of experience as a visual designer with responsibilities and skills similar to the list above
·  At least 2+ years of experience in agile, scrum and lean
·  Experience working on complex products with multiple user groups
·  Experience with data visualization and designing with big data
·  Experience with agile and lean approaches
·  Secondary skill in UX design, motion graphics or front-end development whdesign
