Remote Technical Support Representative (German/English)

Job description
As a member of the technical support center team, you would be responsible for providing remote technical support assistance to clients and IBM technical personnel on server products in high volume and high availability product environments.
Responsibilities:
· Receive and record incident related information, and using a variety of tools, techniques and procedures, select appropriate actions to resolve problems, and communicate the solution or action plan to the client or IBM service representative.
· Identify/recommend updates to knowledge based systems and maintenance packages, as relevant when screening a call .
· In some instances, also provide hardware or technical support assistance to clients and IBM personnel in multi-vendor, multi-protocol networks/systems in the high availability product environment.
· Use professional knowledge and problem determination/problem source identification skills to resolve problems involving hardware, microcode, operating system, application programs, and network issues.
· The employee leads technical support and the business processes.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Strong Communication skills (oral and written) - must be personable and enjoy working with clients
· Problem Solving skills - logically and analytically minded
· Technical knowledge and background (training on specific products sets will be provided), preferable server environment and/or similar
· Ability to work individually and as part of the wider team
· Accountability for own actions
· Ability to learn and implement changes/ actions as required
· Fluent German language in speaking and writing
· Good command of English language
