Job description

As Recovery Management Consultant, you are responsible for the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) for IBM's Strategic Outsourcing Customers. The disaster recovery plans must be viable and exercised demonstrating to management the organization's ability to continue data processing operations following a disruption of services. You are responsible to lead the recovery effort in the event of an outage emergency.

Responsibilities:

Plan Development:
·  Develop Disaster Recovery Plans to meet client's defined and contracted DR objectives
·  Coordinate IBM delivery team efforts in the development of new DR plans
·  Coordinate 3rd parties, as required, to meet DR plan requirements
·  Work with clients to ensure they understand the limitations and exclusions of their DR plans
·  Work with the IBM Account Teams to ensure they understand their DR responsibilities as they relate to their client Exercise Execution:
·  Develop exercise objectives with client input
·  Schedule the DR exercise
·  Develop and publish the Pre-Exercise Report to outline exercise objectives and details
·  Develop the exercise timeline
·  Hold pre-exercise meetings with all delivery teams to ensure individual responsibilities and tasks are understood
·  Project manage the DR exercise including coordination of all delivery teams and tracking of the recovery timeline
·  Develop and publish the Post Exercise Report to document the results of the exercise
·  Develop the action plan to follow-up and close all outstanding actions from the exercise Plan Maintenance:
·  On a regular basis (as outlined the client contract) review and maintain the existing DR plans
·  Ensure all action items from the previous exercise have been closed
·  Ensure all changes to the environment since the last exercise are incorporated into the DR Plan
·  Make suggestions for improvement of existing DR Plans to both the client and IBM Account Teams as appropriate Outage Emergency:
·  Working in conjunction with the IBM Account Team, recover the assigned clients per contractual commitments
·  Handover the recovered environment to the IBM steady state delivery teams
·  Assist in the development of plans to return to the home environment
·  Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
·  Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Overall 8+ years of Experience and Knowledge with Mainframe & distributed data or applications recovery in a DR test environment
·  At least 3 years' experience in Disaster Recovery
·  Project Management methodology experience
·  Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan development
·  Proficient on multiple platforms, processes or architecture
·  DRI certification preferred
·  You will provide support to DR exercises outside the normal work hours at IBM a few times a year. Exercises are conducted over several days and round the clock support is required by the team by covering 12 hour shifts. These 12 hour shifts may be during the day or night depending on scheduling for the exercise.

·  Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
·  Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
