Principal Business Analyst, Global Trade & Receivables Finance

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Principal Business Analyst, GTRF.

The Analyst role will provide forward looking, analytics-based insights and decision science to support the Bank's strategic objectives to Grow, Simplify and protect initiatives. Working alongside the Senior Business Manager and other analysts within the team the department will provide data and analytics across the segments and GTRF products as well as supporting any regulatory requests.

By working along-side the Senior Business Manager the principal business analysts will be responsible for making system and process improvements to source system data warehouse and extraction processes. The various databases currently used by the business require process improvements and are to be streamlined. The remaining business objective is to build out the data infrastructure in order to produce insightful forward looking analytics

This will be achieved by:

Applying analytical skills to extract information from data sources and translating it into business language;

·
Implementing best solutions within decision systems, satisfying user requirements;

·
Providing ideas for projects, strong business awareness, commercial thinking, knowledge sharing;

·
Establishing oneself as the Subject matter expert in own field of expertise;

·
Production, maintenance & improvement of a suite of strategic and ad-hoc reports;

·
Managing a range of analytical and modelling projects from inception to delivery;

·
Sharing knowledge of data structures and associated code to wider team;

·
Producing and validating of figures for regulatory returns;

·
Managing Stakeholders and managing expectations appropriately.

Desired profile



Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

· 
Programming skills in either one or more of SAS/ SQL/R/Python, MSML are mandatory for this role.

· 
Strong Analytical Reasoning;

· 
Preferable to have experience in VBA and/or visualisation tools like Qlik, Tableau, BO.

· 
Highly developed analytical skills to extract information from data and translate it into business language;

· 
Excellent oral and writing skills allowing clear and concise communication of project outputs, including presenting analysis and recommendations to colleagues at different levels of the organisation.

· 
Experience of applying analytical techniques to data to produce explanatory or predictive results;

· 
Have directly relevant experience of working in an analytical role within financial services or an alternative data driven organization within large analytical teams;

· 
Exposed to direct interactions with stakeholders and business colleagues at different levels of the organisation.

The role is based in our new UK HQ at 1 Centenary Square, Birmingham.
