Description:

HPE Experience Studio is a centralized design team inside of HPE that operates as an internal design agency to all product/service teams, partners, and customers. You will be part of a team of skilled visual, interaction, experience designers to a variety of other practitioners in the research and development space in helping create end-user experiences.  

Our team is looking for someone who is motivated as a creator and artist to help inspire and craft interfaces that not only look at the details, but also question how the design complements the larger story being told. A strong understanding of color, typography, layout, and illustration are required. We’re looking for someone who can take direction and translate that into images, layouts, interactions, and experiences with your skillset. Our expectation is that you can work iteratively with the given direction and gauge the level of fidelity to express the concept of your ideas and iteratively build on chosen directions.  

Day-to-day responsibilities include collaboration with your local and remote teammates to help define your design requirements for delivering interfaces, leveraging/understanding the HPE brand, Grommet, and other established patterns in the company to build on (but also challenge) in delivering designs, and spending time creating (illustrations, photography, photo manipulation, painting, crafting) with the intent of integrating these elements into the experience.  

Responsibilities  

Expression and Creativity 

·  Develop prototypes and models to use in various products to maximize aesthetic consistency 
·  Present rough drafts to product managers and/or key stakeholders to gain approval 
·  Brainstorm new ideas layouts and graphics 
·  Communicate status and agreements with project team 
·  Create visual aspects of marketing materials websites and other media including infographics 
·  Pull together disparate elements of a design created by other professionals such as the icons, photos, and/or components 
·  Consult with clients’ marketing copywriting and sales teams to create cohesive designs that reflect HPE’s culture and goals

Requirements  

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Design, Marketing, or related discipline 
·  Proficient in design tools like Sketch, Figma, Framer, Zeplin, Adobe Create Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) specifically with mockups, web design, and application design 
·  Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript 
·  Experience in professional commercial design preferably with a marketing or creative agency 
·  Experience in interaction design experience for touch-based mobile interfaces is a plus 
·  Adaptive design eye and skill 
·  Excellent communication skills 
·  Comfort in a project-oriented work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic 
·  Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients 
·  An online portfolio demonstrating interaction design process and thinking 

Education and Experience

·  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Fine Arts or equivalent
·  Minimum 4-6 years’ experience
