The Pointnext Global Lab Entry level Engineer will gain experience in multiple disciplines and progress to be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one or more areas (e.g., ProLiant (server), 3PAR (storage), ESX (software) by building common and complex customer environments to assist in resolving HPE customer issues.

·  Demonstrates judgement, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to look at the bigger picture.
·  Understanding of available resources and processes to pull in needed expertise when required. 
·  Ability to effectively communicate at all levels with Pointnext Global Lab users, escalation resources and all levels of management.
·  Ability to coordinate technical resources as required to support Pointnext business needs.
·  Project management and coordination of lab maintenance including communication related to the maintenance of equipment and upgrade planning.
·  Excellent interpersonal skills.
·  Ensure optimum space, power and cooling utilization in the lab by working with the relevant stakeholders.
·  Strong organizational skills.
·  Process and metrics alignment.
·  Work to identify the new technologies, trends and solutions that can help in automation of work, self-service options and reducing the intervention by the lab team.
·  Ability to multi-task simple to complex problem troubleshooting.
·  Strong analytical abilities.
·  Participating in standby rotation for on-call after hours support.
·  Exercising significant independent judgement and working collaboratively with peers and associates at all levels.

Job Requirements:

·  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
·  Typically 0-2 years’ experience.
·  Experience with one or more operating systems and common applications helpful
·  Knowledge of Server and software installations helpful.
·  Experience problem replication, testing and data analysis a plus
·  Ability to provide hands-on hardware and software installations on a variety of different platforms in the Lab as well as provide migration testing as needed with assistance from more experienced resources.
·  Familiar with the SAN / Network / Server environments and how they are configured, maintained, and managed helpful. 
·  Participate in the installation of new equipment as required working with the Global Lab Team in support of Technology Services activities.
·  Familiar working with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, VmWare and all related hardware platforms helpful.
·  Work will include installing systems in racks, loading and configuring operating systems with minimal supervision.

Additional Knowledge and Skills:

·  Experience or understanding of appropriate engineering design tools and software packages.
·  Good analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Basic understanding of material properties and hardware and electrical component design.
·  Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
