Your Responsibilities :
- Title: Oligosaccharide synthesis for glycoconjugate vaccines

- Context: Glycoconjugate vaccines is the main research topic of the group. The activities of the group include the development of technologies for carbohydrate antigens preparation via biological extraction or chemical synthesis, their conjugation to protein carriers, and their advanced physico-chemical and immunochemical characterization. The request for an intern is due to support these activities, in particular the chemical synthesis of oligosaccharide.

- Project description: The intern will be involved in the chemical synthesis of oligosaccharides and its conjugation to a carrier protein with the aim to get a general understanding of the impact of saccharide length and level of glycosylation on immunogenicity to support both chemical and bio conjugate platforms.

- Competencies the intern will develop thanks to the internship experience: The intern will develop competencies on carbohydrate synthesis, analytical techniques (ionic exchange chromatography with amperometric detection for sugar analysis using Dionex system and HPLC method) and bioconjugation (chromatography, diafiltration and ultrafiltration, SDS-page, western blot, dot blot and colorimetric assays for the characterization of the products).
