Description      

This position is designed for entry level engineers who desire to begin a career in manufacturing. It is a dynamic and energetic career field that will expand your engineering and problem solving skillsets and provide you great exposure to modern manufacturing practices. In this position you will:

·  Ensure product and quality system integrity
·  Implement new products and processes; resolve product performance issues
·  Provide expertise and guidance in the creation, testing and  evolution of rubber in the tire making process to ensure product conformance to standards and requirements
·  Interface with production, quality and maintenance associates to ensure product conformity
·  Conduct analysis and provide recommendations to improve and standardize processes and procedures

 

Requirements  

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or other Manufacturing Engineering discipline
·  Prefer two years’ experience working with multidisciplinary Engineering, Production and Maintenance processes in a manufacturing environment
·  Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills.
·  Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology.
·  Ability to understand technical drawings and procedures.
·  Experience using lean or other  methodologies to perform root cause analysis and development of corrective actions

 

Tasks    

·  Perform activities within the manufacturing process that involve issuing reports; conducting audits; issuing and dispositioning product holds; and maintaining/interpreting specifications related to product quality.
·  Carry out activities that involve facilitating development builds and trials, issuing product, process or material specifications, analyzing data, and conducting process and equipment trials related to improving manufacturing capability and competitiveness.
·  Execute activities involving continuous improvement tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions and facilitating cost down initiatives related to improving product costs.  These duties would include training and instruction of appropriate team members and day-to-day floor support.
·  Identify and correct unacceptable performance through analysis and technical knowledge of the product and process including waste and cost reduction.
·  Perform activities that drive compliance to PPQ audits, Banbury audits, process control audits, calendar and extruder audits and any other audits deemed necessary to improve the product,, process and quality system.
