Role Summary/Purpose

GE Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Visual Designer to join the Software Platform UX team to help guide the visual design of our universal UI design system. In this role, you will create useful, elegant and desirable UI system components, icons, controls, and a style guide that will ensure delivery of usable, visually consistent and efficient software across the entire healthcare portfolio.
Essential Responsibilities

As a Visual Designer on the design system, and under direction from our design system visual lead, you will rapidly define, design, test, iterate on, and deliver specifications for atomic design UI elements. You will evaluate multiple approaches from the past for each element and control; design and comparatively evaluate new and/or existing options; refine your designs; and create production-grade visual design artifacts and highly detailed and specific visual design specifications for handoff to UI engineers for development as well as for global design teams to adopt.

In this role, you will:

·  Contributes across multiple small to medium projects as assigned in a cross-functional environment.

·  Understands and applies Agile / Lean UX methodologies.

·  Contribute to the effective documentation and communication of design - via wireframes, mockups, and requirements engineering

·  Researches emerging design, technology, industry, and market trends. Build features such as web services and Queries on existing tables
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Associate’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, or Industrial Design preferred or in “STEAM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)

·  A minimum of 0 years of professional experience in product or service design

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills

·  Must be willing to work out of an office located in Seattle, WA or Chicago, IL
