Role Summary/Purpose

The UK EHS Coordinator maintains the area’s Environmental, Health, Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements. Accountable and responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements. Also, follows up action plans to improve EHS Performance and reduce likelihood and severity of EHS events and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

• Behave as an example for others and provide full and active commitment in the deployment of the EHS Policies and any additional project-specific written statement.
• Conduct/attend weekly safety meetings, periodical reports and audit management
• Direct support to Wind Field service technicians working on customer sites
• First line support for coordinating on-site requirements for EHS
• Control and responsibility of supplying and use of personal protective equipment required whilst carrying out work on WTG (Wind Turbine Generators)
• Ensure full implementation of GE standards and procedures at site
• Supervision of work and risk analysis tasks
• Conduct site inspections and review site activities for potential hazards
• Maintain emergency plans, including emergency drills and training.
• Organize (and deliver, when relevant) adequate EHS communication to site personnel whenever required (communication on specific EHS issues, EHS awareness campaign, etc.).
• Ensure that all Accidents/Incidents are recorded, investigated and analyzed to prevent reoccurrence.
• Administer the requirements of GE’s Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
• Contribute to, and participate in GE Universal Fleet Services (UFS) Programme
• Perform other duties as required by Operational and EHS management
Qualifications/Requirements

• Safety related qualification, NEBOSH General Certificate (or actively working towards) as a minimum
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in EHS in a service environment preferably in Wind Industry
• Familiar with OHSA regulatory requirements.
• Availability to travel, both in UK/Ireland and abroad
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office, web based tools

• Technical background as a Wind Turbine Technician.
• Good team management skills
• Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team based environment.
• Risk & Emergency situations management
• Experience in power industry – ideally Wind background.
• Working knowledge of Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) & HV safety rules
• Ability to make decisions in a fast pace and sense of urgency
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Capacity to work under pressure, in a complex environment and communicating with transparency
• Good organizational skills
• EHS auditing & training experience.
