Role Summary/Purpose

Join the software development team and utilize your software skills to develop cutting edge solutions that are used in GE Power Conversion’s range of Remote monitoring, Engineering and HMI Operator Interface products and systems
Essential Responsibilities

• Work in sprints of small, self-motivated teams using agile methods, collaborating with Product Leadership to determine customer needs and transforming those customer needs into next generation control and communication products that are cloud connected
• Be involved in all phases of software development from requirements definition, implementation, quality control and testing to product deployment
• Write technical documentation including user manuals, software design and test specifications
• Work closely with other teams within the company and adhere to industry standards to ensure products meet required specifications
• Occasional travel to customer or other GE development locations may be required.
Qualifications/Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field of study
• Three or more years of experience in software development using object-oriented software design
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to create Windows based installation applications, utilizing OS API’s, e.g. to ‘lock’ down machine for security, automatic creation of user accounts, installation/uninstallation of services/applications etc.
• Experience of RAD / TDD / Agile development processes

• Familiarity with Git/Jira and continuous Integration & deployment techniques
• Experience with computer networks, Ethernet, LANs, TCP/IP and other protocols.
• Understanding of cyber security and its relevance to software development
• Ability to create structured documentation suitable for Customer use
