Role Summary/Purpose

The purpose of this 12 month internship is to provide graduates with an opportunity to gain invaluable experience in Aviation Leasing Financing. It seeks to provide an enriching experience through challenging assignments that will lead to Industry experience and professional skill development while also making a real contribution to the business.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Support the Risk Operations Team in providing back office support to the Global Underwriting Team. This will involve providing and preparing, information and data, to support all underwriting activity and portfolio monitoring.

·  Prepare draft regional Account Reviews and regional reporting for SLT Operating Review, for review with Risk MD and Risk Managers. Take full ownership for the accuracy and freshness for system generated data.

·  Spread customer financial statements data into SURE PD in accordance with Risk Operations Standard Operating Procedures. Prepare summary and commentary of all material movements and ratio analysis. Support RM with rating queries and freshness in Region.

·  Provide ongoing support to the Risk Managers through preparation of country reports, sourcing obligor information, driving NJA analysis for region and being SME for all systems and data queries.

·  Prepare quarterly updates to the Risk Country Scorecard working with GE Capital Treasury and the Risk MDs to ensure all changes, concerns and updates are accurately captured. Prepare summary for review with CRO.

·  Project – Economic Loss

Details of all obligor defaults are contained in a Default & Loss data base. This information includes loss, recovery and transactional data from the default episodes. The data base was built however to support a loan portfolio and does not return useful measurement of the economic loss on operating leases. This project would involve:

·  Understanding the system and data currently available

·  Develop an agreed BU definition of Economic Loss for Operating Leases and agree measurements and metrics.

·  Assess the completeness of current data set based on this new definition

·  Working with the IT & the Risk Team prepare a BRD for the automation of this new definition.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Currently studying towards an MSc in Aviation Finance with University College Dublin

·  Highly motivated with ability to work on own initiative

·  Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines

·  Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills

·  Excellent communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal

·  Experience in Aviation leasing and finance would be a strong advantage
