Role Summary/Purpose

As a Wide Band Gap (WBG) Device Engineer you will be responsible for developing novel WBG semiconductor devices for applications in Aviation, Healthcare, Power and Renewable technologies of interest to GE
Essential Responsibilities

You will... 

·  Be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team charged with developing novel WBG semiconductor devices and associated fabrication and testing methods. 
·  Be involved with the modeling, design, fabrication, and testing, reliability assessments and/or failure analysis of various devices. 

·  Interact with GE businesses, government agencies and GE partners and customers to understand their initiatives and help shape device research programs accordingly. 
·  Generate white papers and proposals towards government agency research initiatives.  
·  Develop novel WBG semiconductor devices to meet GE business and customer needs. 

·  Provide technical expertise in areas such as semiconductor materials, device physics and design, and/or device fabrication, test and reliability.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related applied science with experience developing WBG semiconductor device OR Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related applied science with at least 3 years of experience developing WBG semiconductor devices OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related applied science with at least 5 years of experience developing WBG semiconductor devices  
·  Demonstrated experience in modeling, design and testing of WBG semiconductor devices 
·  Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics 

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in design and process modeling of high voltage SiC diodes and transistors through TCAD (e.g. Silvaco, Sentaurus, Medici) 
·  Hands-on experience in the fabrication, device
integration and testing of high voltage WBG (e.g. SiC, GaN, gallium oxide, diamond) semiconductors devices 
·  Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing deliverables 
·  Demonstrated experience in the preparation of proposals for external funding agencies 
·  A strong publication record in the area of semiconductor devices  
·  Ability to identify creative solutions to key technical challenges or business needs 
·  Excellent communication and documentation skills. 
·  Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a highly effective team  
·  Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
·  Understands six-sigma, design of experiments, and can use statistics towards optimization and specification of design windows
