Role Summary/Purpose

An exciting opportunity exists for an RM&T Engineer to be part of our growing Through Life Engineering team within the Avionics organisation. In this role you will perform Through Life Engineering tasks and help to drive in design and process changes to help improve the quality and robustness in a wide variety of complex avionics and power programmes, helping to grow capability to satisfy emerging opportunities in both the civil and military aviation and industrial sectors.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Provide TLE / RM&T support across all product/programmes and for all stakeholders 
·  Review demand from bids and projects and develop tailored TLE programmes of activities 
·  Produce and deliver TLE / RM&T products/programmes in accordance with an agreed schedule and the TLE Programme Plan 
·  Produce and deliver TLE / RM&T products/programmes using the guidelines of GE processes, contracted RM&T defence standards and other relevant international standards 
·  Drive and manage the RM&T and life requirements and demonstrate the necessary compliance against them 
·  Act as the Work Package Manager for the TLE / RM&T scope of work and be accountable for the delivery of high calibre outputs that are on time and within budget  
·  Develop and implement the TLE / RM&T Plan and associated documents required to support the through life design assurance of products/programmes such as:  
·  RM&T Case Reports 
·  Reliability Assessment Reports 
·  RBD 
·  FMEA/FMECA 
·  HIRF and Lightning for Continued Airworthiness Assessments 
·  Testability Analyses 
·  RCM Reports 
·  FRACAS reports 
·  Reliability Growth/Demonstration Test Plans/Reports 
·  Maintainability assessment reports 
·  MSG-3 Analyses  
·  Ensure a culture of best practice and share knowledge within project teams, helping to coach and mentor junior members of the TLE team 
·  Proactively seek out and share best practice in TLE to ensure continuous improvement and consistency
Qualifications/Requirements

·  A degree in a relevant disciple such as Engineering, Mathematics or Physics or equivalent knowledge or experience  
·  Experience working as a TLE / RM&T Engineer on commercial and/or military platform projects 
·  Be able to work within multi-discipline teams and steer the stakeholders and products/programmes 
·  Strong communication skills (oral and written) 
·  Experienced in technical writing in accordance with TLE / RM&T relevant standards (both defence and general industry 
·  Experienced in hardware/software/functional failure analysis, in support of safety integrity levels or design assurance levels (e.g. IEC 61508 and ARP4761)  
·  Experienced in the application of reliability methodologies and statistical principles: FMEA, FME(C)A, FTA, Reliability Predictions to MIL-HDBK-217F, Physics of Failure, MTBF and MTTF estimation, RGT, ESS, FRACAS and root cause analysis 
·  Experienced in the application of maintainability analysis methodologies to support LSA type activities such as spares modelling, MTTR, and RCM  
·  Experienced in application and management of testability analysis to support End User needs: identification and development of BIT and HUMS from FME(C)A
