Role Summary/Purpose

OneWind Software Digital Thread Engineer will work with the OneWind team, Software Product Owners and users across the engineering organization to help refine the vision and execution for the digital tool development and digital threading (connecting).

Essential Responsibilities

Currently, this suite of tools includes tools for optimizing customer wind farm value & turbine layouts, automating and connecting engineering tools for speed in customer proposals and consolidating digital tools for wind turbine/farm simulations, loads evaluation & simulation configuration management.  

As the OneWind Digital Thread Engineer, you will:

·  Work with Product / Software Owners and functional stakeholders in engineering and commercial teams to refine our vision and execution for the OneWind suite of tools
·  Support engineering tools in terms of defining engineering needs and translating to software requirements.
·  Work with all organizations developing or using the OneWind suite, including but not limited to, Engineering, Product Development, Regional Sales, Commercial Operations, and Digital Technology
·  Look for ways to develop and integrate new technologies (ie AI, machiane learning, etc) to add value to commercial applications as well as improve internal efficiencies
·  Identify users and customers of the tool and fully understand both their short and long-term requirements to help drive adoption of OneWind tools when release criteria have been met
·  Capture business value that show the cycle time reductions and optimization benefits associated with the engineering suite of tools
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university
·  Minimum 5 years engineering experience or equivalent
·  Minimum 1 year involvement with Agile or Other Software Management techniques
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in implementing and managing software development projects in an engineering environment
·  MS or PhD engineering degree in Computer Science, Mechanical or Aero Engineering
·  Experience in Wind turbine engineering
·  Experience in cloud computing
·  Proficient in software engineering and development cycle
·  Experience developing and applying new digital tools with engineer users
·  Ability to drive change in a challenging environment in an inclusive manner
·  Ability to formulate long and short-term plans and lead implementation and adoption for digital tools
·  Demonstrates the ability to lead and influence across organizations
·  Self-motivated with personal and project management skills
·  Strong Familiarity with Agile practices
