Role Summary/Purpose
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the industrialization activities of mechanical gearboxes assembly, starting from the design phases. She/He will be part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team and will take full responsibility of the assigned hardware, developing the manufacturing process to achieve the required targets in terms of process feasibility and robustness, product quality, product cost, capacity sustainment.
Essential Responsibilities
· Support concurrent engineering activities with the design engineers from the beginning of the project
· Define assembly sequence, from parts assembly to final pass off test
· Design and Develop new fixture & optimize existing ones
· Manage the technical validation according with internal procedures
· Follow with assembly operator firsts assembly modules to identify fixture/sequence optimizations and to train them
· Production Readiness Review KPI monitoring
· Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process
Qualifications/Requirements
· Technical studies (Mechanical or Aeronautical), Bachelor's degree or Master Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering is a plus
· Good knowledge and proven experience in assembly and testing of high precision mechanical assembly
· Experience in assembly tooling and fixture design
· Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications, analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
· Ability to handle more activities simultaneously and work in a matrix organization
· Italian fluent and good English level
· EU work permit
Desired Characteristics
· Significant experience in manufacturing, gearboxes is a plus
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing
