Role Summary/Purpose

In the role of Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead / support the manufacturing process in the machine shop for the site. In the position of Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for reducing set-up times, reprocessing complex parts to cells, as well as driving continuous improvement and process yield. You will work with a cross-functional team to resolve day-to-day manufacturing problems, troubleshoot and resolve process and product issues through immediate or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, as the Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

·  Reprocess parts into CNC cells from multiple work centers (LEAN focus)

·  Ability to design and procure new tooling for milling and turning processes

·  Develop and implement manufacturing processes -
·  documenting process changes
·  driving process / fixture improvements
·  driving lead and cycle time improvements
·  cost of quality (COQ) and Environment
·  Health & Safety (EHS) actions

·  Participate in LEAN initiatives and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements

·  Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action

·  Ensure proper documentation for manufacturing processes, engineering designs and technical data is accurate and kept up to date
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university

·  2 years of manufacturing engineering / industrial engineering experience

·  OR

·  5 years of machining experience

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
