Role Summary/Purpose
Avio Aero is reinforcing the focus to excellence in aeronautical Mechanical Transmissions (ie accessory drivetrains, turboprop reduction gearboxes, geared engines, helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc).
In this spirit, we are looking for a talented design engineer, expected to support design activities within Services Engineering Organization.
Essential Responsibilities
The position requires significant involvement into investigation for field issues with direct collaboration with product support engineering and overhaul shop and into production processes, through a deep collaboration with the Global Supply Chain departments.
More in detail, you will:
· Build technical expertise in aeronautical gearbox components
· Support component design activities to achieve the objectives of performance, manufacturability, cost and life
· Support and lead investigations' activities to understand root cause and final fixing of gearbox field issues
· Support the issuing of technical documents (i.e. models, drawings, reports, specifications) relative to the components design
· Interface with the customer to proactively support field and overhaul issues
· Proactively support activities with other Company departments (i.e. Global Supply Chain, Quality, Product Support) and Suppliers to achieve producibility and manufacturability targets
· Support evaluation of Quality Notifications (QN) for gearbox components, i.e. how to manage defective components
· Support Source Substantiation (Validazioni Tecnologiche) activities for gearbox components
Qualifications/Requirements
· Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
· Knowledge of mechanical design and related manufacturing process
· Knowledge of CAD and FEM tools
· Willingness to directly interact with several internal and external customers
· English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
· PC proficiency
· EU Work Permit
