Role Summary/Purpose

It's an exciting time to be joining our Cheltenham site where we're working on some of aviation's biggest platforms! This great opportunity will manage two key existing product groups with responsibility for maintenance of design (including managing obsolescence), efficiencies / improvements and providing production / the supply chain with technical support. It would suit someone who's passionate about product engineering / support and looking to take the next step in their career development.
Essential Responsibilities

Known internally to GE as Lead Engineer – Electronic Hardware key responsibilities of the role will be;

·  Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements 
·  Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project  
·  Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures 
·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments 
·  Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues 
·  Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews  
·  Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
·  Works on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks
·  Some latitude to deviate from those conditions
·  Expedites orders where necessary

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Educated to degree standard in Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science 
·  A sufficient level of relevant experience in an engineering position
