Role Summary/Purpose

The Europe Transformation Controller will be responsible for driving the Europe transformation strategy across both business and transactional accounting teams. They will be part of a journey to build lean, efficient and sustainable processes to ensure accurate financial statements and to enable us to optimize the Controllership organization and create more value-add roles and careers.
Essential Responsibilities

They will be responsible for building a project plan and measuring progress towards the ‘end state’ goals with clear data analytics. They will report regularly to senior leadership to ensure roadblocks are addressed and to drive speed in execution.

Essential Responsibilities: • Overall project manager for the Europe transformation strategy for Healthcare Systems. Responsible for the delivery of prioritized initiatives, ensuring projects are executed in a timely manner, are cost effective and deliver the maximum impact for the business 
• Obtain data to build analytics for each process and business team in order to understand the optimal ‘end state’ for each process. Understand manual, ‘non standard’ work in order to build a project plan to eliminate waste in each process 
• Work with Business Process Leaders both within GE Healthcare and in Genpact to understand their process transformation plan and address any gaps. Have regular operating rhythms to ensure progress is made and help to address roadblocks with senior leadership 
• Consider short term stability and long-term effectiveness of R2R processes when facilitating discussions and decisions to ensure prioritization of projects are aligned to the goal. Also, consider risk nature and financial impact of the processes in prioritization process 
• Work with Genpact and GEHC process teams to build KPIs to measure the performance of underlying processes and to measure transformation progress against plan 
• Identify opportunities to lean processes and help drive Value Stream Mapping work outs to map out optimal ‘end state’ processes. Ensure adequate resourcing to meet the project objectives 
• During the transformation projects work as part of a cross functional team, ensuring there are clear roles & responsibilities, deadlines are communicated and met, and resources required are obtained 
• Ensure proper change management controls are maintained throughout the project(s) and new controls are properly documented and implemented 
• Identify roles & responsibility gaps between teams due to the nature of the process structure and work to identify owns. Work cross functionally to resolve differing views 
• Build strong connections with Regional Controllers, CFOs and other finance teams when building ‘future state’ processes and organization. Identify ‘waste’ in the business controllership teams and work to eliminate it through better clarity of roles & responsibilities and through process issue resolution being directed to process teams 
• Frequent report outs to senior leadership including the GEHC Controller, GEHC CFO and the GEHC Europe CFO, GEHC Operational Controller
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field and extensive progressive accounting or finance experience 
• Demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP and authoritative accounting literature (i.e. FASB pronouncements)

• Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions. Understand broader impact of the change that is being driven 
• Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations 
• Strong analytical skills; be proficient in data analysis to measure progress (lagging, leading indicators), understand financial statements and be able to link them to the process transformation 
• External focus: capable of forging strong relationships with finance and non-finance leaders
