Role Summary/Purpose

Do you want to be part of the future of Aviation with a dynamic company? As a part of GE Aviation supporting Engine Test Systems the individual will be responsible for the continued implementation and growth of our Aviation Test Data (ATD) and Aviation Test Analytics (ATA) big-data products. These products utilize a Cassandra database backend and this individual will maintain the health of these databases and support any new data instances, product upgrades, and improvements.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

·  Be responsible for supporting multiple Cassandra database environments

·  Support the implementation of the ATD product in the military classified area

·  Provide proactive planning of changes

·  Review database schema designs and query optimizations

·  Assist product development teams with data migrations, cloud deployments, and analytics development

·  Participate in agile development teams

·  Handle risk and dependencies between organizations

·  Provide strategic inputs into annual planning processes and other business activities

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

·  Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT

·  Must be willing to work out of an office based in Cincinnati, OH

·  Ability to obtain a US government clearance to support classified military programs

Desired Characteristics

Technical Expertise:

·  Data management experience (Non-Data Warehouse and Hadoop experience)

·  Hands on experience working with Cassandra and/or other NoSQL databases

·  Hands on experience in Apache Spark with Cassandra

·  Exposure to data migration across tools and techniques

·  Good knowledge of cloud implementations (AWS, Azure)

·  Exposure to automation tools (Jenkins, Terraform, etc.)

·  Experience and expertise of the Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SaFe, etc.)

·  Proficiency with various agile and collaboration tools like Rally, Aha, and Confluence
